With 500 hand-stitches in French style using a 0.55mm waxed nylon thread. This one belongs to its owner truly. 30's and 40's were meant to wear perfect fit. I realised everything (except the belt) is usually a perfect fit on the body. The shirt, the trouser, the shoes, the tux..everything but the belt. But why?! So, I decided to change that.

Another reason why this belt happened is because I don't find clothes that match my body type. Most places usually do not have in stock that would fit me. I realised it was very important to wear things that fit. That fit perfectly. Whats the point of having all that money otherwise?!

To talk about the belt- The first piece took me three days to hand stitch in 6 sittings. Which is also why i remember the number of stitches it contains. Saddle-stitch is a very therapeutic process in itself but you've to be careful with resting your body and the hands. 2-hrs of stitching at a single stretch is something I realise is my current limit. With better tools and practise the stitching precision increases as well. The process also becomes more smooth & enjoyable.

The hand-stitch is very very strong & I mean it. It creates very different knot from what the machine stitches have. In hand-stitch the thread goes across the leather over to the other side. While in machine-stitch (which typically makes a lock-stitch) each side of thread remains on the same side while the knot rests exactly in the centre of the two pieces of leather. This difference in knots is what gives hand-stitch the ultimate strength. I would say an article that is saddle-stitched by hand would be two-times or three-times more resistant to coming apart than a machine stitch. It's not as if machine-stitch is a bad choice, its just that there is something even higher grade than what machines can do when we do it by hand.

A patented snap button sits on each end secures the garment, this is unlike most people will ever own. A belt that belongs to everyone, belongs to no one.

Our Peace Maker series uses Cobrax® snap buttons.
